Janice L. "Jenny" Moon

Janice L. "Jenny" Moon, 84, of Martinsville, passed away on December 14, 2024, at The Waters of Martinsville. She was born in Indianapolis on September 21, 1940, to the late Charles and Effie (Rike) Mitchell. Jenny attended Mooresville schools. She married Elmer Moon in September 1964, and he preceded her in death in 2003.
Jenny enjoyed her role as a homemaker. She spent several years as a babysitter, watching kids in her home. Jenny also liked playing card games, poker, and bingo. Above all, Jenny found happiness in helping others.
In addition to her parents, Jenny is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Moon; brothers, Charles Mitchell and James “Jim” Mithcell; sisters, Elva Brisbon and Belva Brown; and two infant sisters.
Survivors include her brother, Harold Mitchell (wife, Pam) of Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory is handling Jenny’s cremation arrangements. Her remains will be buried in Brooklyn Cemetery next to her husband, Elmer. A celebration of life will be held in the Spring.
