Jeffry Scott Robinson

December 16, 1955 ~ August 21, 2024
Jeffry Scott Robinson, born on December 16, 1955, in Indianapolis, IN, passed away on August 21, 2024, after a short battle with pneumonia, a long battle with gravity in Texas, and a lifetime battle with his own stubbornness.
Jeff grew up in Centerton, Indiana and Monticello, Illinois. A dedicated athlete in his early years, he was nicknamed “Wildman” and lettered in track, basketball, golf, and cross country before graduating from Mooresville High School in 1974. Jeff then attended Indiana State University, where he joined the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, resulting in 50 years of brotherhood, friendship, and repetitive storytelling, as well as a new moniker, “Clinger”.
His love of sports continued throughout his life, though in a more passive manner after 1996. Jeff could routinely be found watching golf or basketball on TV or attending homecoming in Terre Haute. He rarely missed hosting his annual Indy 500 shindig in the fourth turn at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, complete with bloody marys and someone manning the cooker.
Jeff was a survivor. In his lifetime he survived car crashes, falls, broken bones, surgeries, illness, a stroke, and an apartment fire. He did it all with a wry sense of humor and a few well-timed curse words.
Jeff is survived by his children, Tracy L. (Niles) Ingalls, Brandon W. Robinson, and Trent D. Robinson; eight grandchildren; his older brothers, James and Larry Robinson; seven nieces and nephews, and their children; myriad of aunts, uncles, and cousins, two ex-wives, his Sig Ep brothers, and his long-time nursing staff who were like family. He was preceded in death by his parents, James “Pete” Robinson and Jacqueline Akard Robinson.
Jeff’s Life Celebration® Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 39 East High Street, Mooresville. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the service beginning at 7 p.m. His earthly remains will then be cremated and a graveside service will take place at Centerton Cemetery on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 11 a.m.

A life well played, and you did it your way. You’re finally free to run again.
We Love and will miss you Jeff. But we know you are in a better place and now you can walk and run and not be in pain until we meet again
I didn’t know you but I felt like I did through my sister who was one of his caregivers, Larra. She told us so many wonderful stories of you and she thought of you like family.
Jeff, I had the privilege of getting to know you through Larra. Thank you for always making me feel welcome wherever we were. The many races I got to see because of you is something I will always cherish.

Jeff,
You will be missed more than I can express.
I mourn your passing and the memories we will no longer share.
I do take solace that you are back on your feet and able to put a foot in anybody’s ass
that needs it.
Thanks for the friendship and all the great times.
pals and brothers forever
see ya on the other side
Got the pleasure of being introduced to Jeff through his frat brothers in the 70’s and we struck up a friendship that I’ll always cherish. Golfing together at Beechwood in Laporte and then over to the ice cream shop. Too many stories to tell but I’ll remember them all. So glad Jeff was a part of my life.
