Joseph Adams

Joseph Adams, 83, Mooresville, died July 26, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital, Mooresville. Mr. Adams was born June 18, 1932, in Indianapolis, to the late Horace and Pearl (Kelly) Adams.

He attended Manuel High School and proudly served in the United States Army. Mr. Adams worked as a truck driver for 30 years for Tucker Freight Lines, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the American Legion Post #88.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Kenneth, Harry, William, John, Dorothy, and Sylvia.

Survivors include his children, Sharon Strong of Indianapolis, Patti Lumpkin (Jeff) of Fishers, Joe 'Duke' Adams (Wanda) of Florida, and Tim Adams of Mooresville; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

  1. So very sad to hear that Uncle Joe has passed. He was the last of his generation and leaves a huge hole in our family, he will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tim, Sharon, Patty and Duke and your families. Kelly Bohannon-Thaman and family

  2. I am writing this for my mom, Anne Grismore. Joey was a dear friend to her. As her alzheimer’s advances she always clings to her relationship and time spent with Joe. He would call her daily and lift her spirits. He will be missed greatly.
