Julian Ward “Jay” Hinshaw, 85, Monrovia, passed away peacefully at home April 13, 2019. Mr. Hinshaw was born May 2, 1933, in Monrovia, to the late Ira and Helen (Allen) Hinshaw.

Julian attended Monrovia High School and graduated from West Point High School in Mississippi. He also attended Mississippi State College and later graduated from Purdue University. He loved his country and proudly served in the United States Army. Julian was employed in production at GM Truck & Bus for more than 20 years, retiring in 1987. He was also a lifelong farmer. He was a loyal member of Gasburg Baptist Church. Julian enjoyed traveling and had visited all 50 states. He was especially loyal to his family and fond of his nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by a loving family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Allen, Dwight, and Robert Hinshaw.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Theresa (Miller) Hinshaw and a brother, Paul Hinshaw.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 19, 2019, 2 – 6 p.m., in the Gasburg Baptist Church, 11564 N. Gasburg Road, Mooresville. The funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday, April 20, 2019, 9 a.m., with Pastor Jack Elliott officiating. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or to a favorite charity. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory.
