Katherine Lucille Cox Baire, 87, Martinsville, died peacefully at home July 3, 2016. Mrs. Baire was born September 30, 1928, in Martinsville, to the late Charles and Angie Cox.

Mrs. Baire retired from RCA and also had worked for Auto Dealers Exchange. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. Mrs. Baire enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and was an excellent cook. Some of her famous recipes included chicken & dumplings, yeast rolls, and chocolate pie. She loved classic country music, especially Johnny Cash and Hank Williams. The Baire Family is especially grateful to Heart to Heart Hospice for the care that Katherine received in her final days. Special thanks to nurses, Christy and Nancy and to the church family at Kingdom Hall.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Baire; son, Forrest W. Baire; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, and Chad; siblings, Bobby, Sonny, Richard, Phyllis, Martha, and Sandra.

Survivors include children, Joseph W. Baire (Carol) of Fort Wayne, Steven R. Baire (Audrey) of Martinsville, and Marsha K. Hall of Bloomington; sisters, Joey Lyle of Indianapolis and Dorothy Wilbur of Florida; grandchildren, Steven, Joseph (Kim), James, Forrest (Natalie), Laura (Joe) and Brad; 12 great grandchildren, Savanah, Peyton, Josie, Katherine, Ethan, Mason, Keely, Cooper, Carson, Samantha, Alexandra, and Benjamin; 1 great great grandchild, Jesse.

The funeral service will begin at 12 Noon, Saturday, July 9, 2016, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time. Entombment will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
