LaVonne (Pickett) Vaughn

LaVonne (Pickett) Vaughn, 81, Coatesville, passed away June 30, 2020. Mrs. Vaughn was born October 5, 1938, in Hendricks County, to the late Harold B. and Lila Aileen (Walton) Pickett.
LaVonne graduated from Stilesville High School. She was employed at Public Service Indiana and also taught kindergarten for several years at Amo Elementary School. She had been the owner of Vaughn’s Forget Me Not Florist in Stilesville for a few years. Her greatest vocation was that of a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. LaVonne and her late husband, Gordon, enjoyed many winters in Florida where lots of good memories were created. An excellent cook and gracious hostess, she was known to show her love with food for family and friends. Her memory will be cherished by her loving family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband, Gordon W. Vaughn, who died in 2018.
Survivors include son, Steve Vaughn; daughter, Stephany (Jeff) Myrick; brother, Norman (the late Sandy) Pickett; grandchildren, Bradley (Ashley) Vaughn, Tyson (Charley) Myrick, Brittney (Heath) Hayes; four great grandchildren, Letty, Delta, Nicholas, and Sadie.
Friends and family will gather Thursday, July 2, 2020, 6 to 8 p.m., in the chapel at

I have nothing but the fondest memories of LaVonne. She sold her flower shop to my folks and continued to work there often. She was a good friend to my Mom. Her laughter and humor made her such a joy to be around. My deepest sympathy goes to her family.
LaVonne was such a loving,caring and fun gal. Always loved seeing her. Thinking of you Steve and Stephany and send my deepest sympathy.

Steve and Stephany, you just lived down the road from us for all of our school years, your om was such a wonderful lady, she will be missed so much. Prayers for you all.
