Linda Lou Arnold, 84, of Indianapolis, died unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, August 14, 2025.  She was born on November 18, 1940 in Bloomington to the late Harold Porter and Ester (Petro) Porter.

On October 28, 1980, she married Jack J. Arnold. Jack proceeded her in death on July 21, 2008 after twenty-seven years of marriage.  She was primarily a homemaker, taking great pride in caring for her family.  She did work though for a period as a dispatcher at Johnson Control for United Airlines.  She also taught country and western dancing naming her classes “Two and “Tyme.”  Linda enjoyed frequent trips to Walmart and sewing.  She also enjoyed time spent at the Moose Lodge, the VFW, and the American Legion.  An avid dog lover, she adored her four-legged companions especially her chihuahuas.

She is survived by her family and friends including her sons, William “Bill” Deal of Indianapolis and Jerry (wife, Jenny) Deal of Indianapolis; daughter, Wendy (husband, James) Lewis of Killeen, Texas; brother, Dennis (wife, Darlene) Porter of Indianapolis; brother-in-law, Arvid Westlie of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ester Porter; husband, Jack Arnold; son, Mark Deal; and sisters, Doris Denny and Vickie Westlie.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, August 25th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. Linda’s Life Celebration® Service will follow beginning at 5:00 pm at the funeral home.  Her earthly remains will be cremated following the services.
