Margaret Alice (Phillips) Corya

Margaret Alice (Phillips) Corya, 96, of Indianapolis, passed from this life on Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Rosegate Village in Indianapolis. She was born on July 16, 1927 in Plainfield to the late Everett Phillips and Opal (Atkinson) Phillips.
She graduated from Plainfield High School. She worked at Eli Lilly and Company as an executive secretary and then moved to the shipping department until she retired in 1989. On August 13, 1963, she married the love of her life, Charles Corya. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1997.
Possessing the heart of a caregiver, she greatly enjoyed helping and caring for others. Her compassion and thoughtful nature have touched many. Additionally, she enjoyed gardening. Of Christian faith, she was previously a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church and of the West Union Quaker Church.
She leaves behind her family including her sisters, Betty Kudla of Mooresville and Lois Hoffman of Mooresville, and her many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Everett and Opal; husband, Charles; and brothers, George Phillips, Tom Phillips, Jim Phillips, Joe Phillips, and Harry Phillips.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, December 2nd from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. A service celebrating her life will immediately follow, beginning at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery.

My sympathies to her sisters. Charlie and Margaret rode steam engine trains together with Kitty and Dave. We were all together at Broadway UMC . I shall miss kind and caring Margaret I knew through the years.
