Martha “Louella” English, 103 of Mooresville, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in the comfort of her own home. She was born February 2, 1912 in Owen County to the late David and Eva Collier.

A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother Louella was a homemaker all of her long life. A talented seamstress, she enjoyed crocheting, making rugs and crafting her own dolls. Louella was a long-time member of Salem United Methodist Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid until the church disbanded several years ago. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Claude W. English and her great grandson, Bryan Smith.

Survivors include her two daughters, Vivian Oliphant and Louise Disney both of Mooresville; Sister, Ilene Jessup of Paragon; five grandchildren, Juanita Snodgrass, Lee Anne Pickerel, David Pickerel, Linda McCalister and Trina Hargis; 12 great grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Angela Stark, Joseph Smith, Patrick Gentry, Loren Gentry, Christopher Gentry, Jessica Manderscheid, Benjamin Pickerel, Brett Vicchrilli, Hannah McCalister, Audrey Hargis and Luke Hargis; 18 great great grandchildren, and a special member of the family, Lloyd McDaniel.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, December 4 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Center Valley Cemetery.
