Matthew Patrick Richardson

May 23, 1996 ~ January 30, 2023
Matthew “Matt” Patrick Richardson 26, of Indianapolis, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in his sleep on Monday, January 30, 2023.
Matthew is a cherished son, brother, cousin, nephew, grandson, cuñado, coworker, and friend. Everyone who knew him will remember him as kind, caring, generous, friendly, and funny.
Matthew was born on May 23, 1996 to his parents, Dan and Sally (Doyle) Richardson and his big sister, Marie, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Matthew, his name meaning “gift of God”, truly was a gift from God and he completed the Richardson family. Growing up, he loved to play and watch all sports and could always be found outside playing with the neighborhood kids. He remained a big sports fan throughout his adult years, rooting on his Muskies, his Dad’s Hoosiers, and his friend Spencer’s Boilers.
After Matthew graduated from Park Tudor School in 2015, he studied at Xavier University in Cincinnati before moving back to Indianapolis, where he lived with his parents. He attended Northview Church Carmel and enjoyed spending the last two years working in trade sales with the good people at Pella/McComb Window and Door.
Matthew was predeceased by his grandmothers, Linda O’Hair Elkins and Joan Watters Doyle, and his grandfather Harry Doyle. He is survived by his parents, Dan and Sally; his sister, Marie (Karla); his grandfather, Fred Elkins; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. They will all miss him dearly.
A private burial service will take place on Sunday, February 5 in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, Indiana.
A celebration of life service will be held in Matt’s honor at Northview Church in Carmel on Monday, February 6 at 10AM with visitation before the service starting at 9:30AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Matt’s name to Northview Church, 12900 Hazel Dell Pkwy, Carmel, IN 46033, or to the charity of your choice.

Matt was so very kind hearted and protective too. Inspired me to attend Northview online too. I feel so grateful to have gotten to know him. I will miss him dearly and my hearts go out to you during this challenging time. Deepest prayers to the family he loved so fiercly.

Our family is heart broken to hear of Matt’s passing. We remember Matt with great fondness. Our son, Austin and Matt shared great memories playing sports together. My husband, Zane coached Matthew and Austin. Austin is heartbroken, but is reassured that Matt’s life was well-lived and he is in the presence of Christ. Our prayers remain with the Richardson family.
Sending deeply heartfelt condolences to Sally, Dan, Marie and the extended family on Matt’s passing. I remember Matt as the kindest, most gentlest soul who loved laughter, joking, and his prized sports teams. Fond memories of a time when, as a little one, he warmed up to our old Charlie dog and was so proud. Matt will be in our hearts forever. May we find solace in his beloved memory.
