Michelle R. “Shelly” (Walters) Vail, 50, of Camby, passed away on May 1, 2018 at Life’s Journey in Avon, surrounded by her family. Shelly was born on January 21, 1968 in Wabash, IN to the late Michael “Mick” Walters and Betty (Spears) Walters, who survives.

Shelly inspired hundreds if not thousands of people throughout her life as a motivational speaker for Weight Watchers and as a friend. Shelly wed the love of her life, Ron Vail on November 24, 1990 and celebrated their 27th Anniversary in 2017. She loved working out and participated in several 5K races over the years. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, loved animals, and doing competitive ballroom dancing. Shelly will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 27 years, Ron Vail of Camby; step-daughters, Theresa Vail of Lebanon, Jenny (Vail) Handley (Chad) of Fishers; mother, Betty Walters (Spears) of Wabash; brother, Keith Walters(Cathy) of Wabash; grandchildren, Beau, Brandon, Quinn, Darby; nieces, Rachel, Kayla, Stephanie; and a host of great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Friends Cemetery, Wabash, Indiana.
While flowers are welcomed, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Marie’s Fund (Animal Rescue), 4247 N.   11. Oh Shelly my heart is breaking I will and have missed our phone calls and our texting back and forth. Last year we were going to meet halfway and have a girls weekend after your and your mom visited and that’s when you called and said you had some health issues going on. I will always remember us working hours on dance routines to Neil Diamond songs! Dance high in the sky girl I love and miss you I still can’t believe you are gone.
