Nancy Elizabeth Brooks

Nancy Elizabeth Brooks, age 69, of Mooresville, passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 at St Francis Hospital, Mooresville. Born March 8, 1945 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Edgar and Bertha Elisabeth (Schiller) Clark.
Nancy was a member of the Kings Daughters and Sons of Indianapolis, a former Girl Scout Leader, Substitute Teacher and volunteered with different groups while her husband was in the military. She enjoyed traveling as child and young adult and continued to see the United States with her husband and children. She had her children while they were stationed in Salt Lake City, Utah. From there the adventures went as far as Baumholder, Germany to Lacey, WA; with many stops in between. In 1985 Nancy moved to Mooresville when her husband retired from the military. In that time she enjoyed many types of jobs, her last was working as a Restaurant Hostess in the Holiday Inn at the Airport Caf. Nancy always enjoyed chatting on the phone with friends especially those from far way, she loved shopping, doing word searches, looking at photos of family and friends and collecting address books. She was never anywhere without a book in her purse. Reading and listening to music were some of her favorite things.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Brooks Jr.; her children: Shere Elizabeth Brooks of Mooresville, IN, Janine Lynn Brooks of Falls Church, VA and Marc William (Petya) Brooks of Vienna, VA; her brother Wallace Clark of Laredo, TX; her grandchildren: Zachary Michael-Scott, Alexandra Elizabeth and Michaela Stephanie.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with the burial at Oaklawn Cemetery, Indianapolis. Friends and Family may call Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

  1. the first time I met Nancy, thinking to myself who is this woman trying to tell my boss what to do. little did I know she was my boss’s mother. and she told me so. Brooks family my heart is with you.
