Nancy K. Reeves

August 14, 1936 ~ May 15, 2025

Born in: Indianapolis, Indiana
Resided in: Martinsville, Indiana

Nancy K. Reeves, 88, passed away on May 15, 2025, at Franciscan Health Indianapolis. Born in Indianapolis on August 14, 1936, she was the daughter and only child of the late Paul and Martha (Housand) Doan. Nancy graduated from Plainfield High School in 1955, and not long after, she married the love of her life, Donald Max Reeves, on July 10.

Nancy was a longtime member of the West Union Friends Meeting in Monrovia.

A proud homemaker, Nancy dedicated her time to raising her three children alongside Max. She was an excellent cook and baker with too many family favorites to list. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens and especially enjoyed caring for the animals on her longtime family farm, which dates back to the 1830s.

Nancy had an artistic talent. Not only could she draw and paint phenomenal landscape portraits, but she also had a beautiful singing voice. She had a love for science fiction and reading. Nancy’s favorite memory was finally being able to go on a Caribbean Cruise with her family and even getting to hold a stingray! Above all, spending time with family meant the most to her.

In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Max Reeves, and their daughter, Rebecca Reeves Gilstrap.

Survivors include her sons, Kevin Reeves (Julie) and Timothy Reeves; grandchildren, Tia Hiles (Shanon), Erin Speer (Darrin), Caitlin Bryant (Nathen), Jon Reeves, Josh Reeves (Karen), Kathryn Reeves, and Jack Reeves; 10 great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Gene Gilstrap.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with an hour of visiting prior to the service. Nancy will be entombed next to Max in Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield following the service.
