Guestbook

  1. Aunt Norma was a gift in many lives, and I was grateful to have her as my Godmother! You will be missed!

  2. We so enjoyed visiting with Bob and Norma on our road trips while stopping to see Chris and Lynn. Rest in peace Norma.

  3. Aunt Norma I miss you and we’ll meet on the cloud9 tennis court someday. Your home during those family celebrations was the place to be growing up for the best game room closet of goodies. Sorry for your loss my loving, devoted, and caring family.

  4. Norma and Bob were the BEST NEIGHBORS anyone could hope for when we lived next door to each other in Merrillville in Country Club Heights. We became good friends and I remember crying when we moved away to Valparaiso. Fortunately we talked a lot on the phone and always caught up on our children and what they and some former neighbors were up to. Norma was always so kind and caring to people. Because she was a nurse, and a very good one, we would go to her for medical advice and she would always take the time to help if she could. It was so comforting to us. I will miss her smile and gentle ways. The one thing I will always think of with a smile was how she hated the wiggle worms in the driveway after a hard rain. It was as if she was a prisoner in her house until the sun came out and all the worms went back to their “homes”. I would call to see if she needed a ride anywhere, but she would just stay home till the worms left. I loved the picture of her in the obit holding a glass of what appeared to be wine or champagne. I felt it was a toast to her new life “ on the other side” that would be full of joy and peace and no pain with Jesus welcoming her with open arms! God Bless you Norma till we meet again🙏.

  5. Bob, Jeff, Lynn and family – I am so sorry to hear about your loss. “Mrs. Kenney” brings back such fond memories of growing up on Grant Place.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless. 🌹

  6. May Norma rest in peace. We worked together at Deen-Tritch Eye Centers. She was an excellent nurse and was always willing to help where needed. I too had the pleasure of her hospitality at their beautiful home. She was so proud of her family. I still have the blue glass bird of happiness she gave me when I retired 30 years ago.

  7. Mr. Kenny, Jeff, and Lynn, so sorry to hear of your loss. Your wife/mother was such a great woman. Growing up together in the neighborhood and having overnight sleepovers were such good times that I will cherish forever. May God bless her soul. Family be strong and cherish her legacy.

  8. Mr. Kenney (Bob), Jeff and Linda, Lynn and Chris and families, so sorry for the loss of sweet Norma. Growing up on Grant Place in Merrillville with the Kenney family was amazing. The entire family were true neighbors. Playtime, dinner time, family get togethers, sleep overs and the list goes on and on. Norma (and Bob) always made me feel welcome in their family. The dinner I remember most was Norma making her spaghetti sauce with Contadina Tomato Paste, one of my favorite dinners. Norma was a great cook, Mom, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and nurse. Her legacy lives on. FYI, I am a nurse because of NORMA. I also had the pleasure of visiting with them a few years ago when I was in Indianapolis (see picture). Love and hugs to all.

  9. My big brother, Bob, brought Norma over to our house to meet every one before their marriage. We had 6 chillins in our family and she was the only child. I was young but remembered her sitting in our zoo and watching in amazement. Immediately thought “Boy, she is a REAL lady.
She and Bob made it out to Pennsylvania and to Arizona to visit our family which meant so much to us.
She chatted often on the phone with me and I loved her and Bob .
    Kindness was their MO.

  10. Lynn, I’ve been thinking of you and your family. Your mother seemed like a very special woman. I hope your many good memories of her help sustain you during this difficult time.
