  5. My heart is breaking for the Overholser family. I was blessed to have known Pat and her family and have many fond & fun memories with this special family. I knew this classy lady in many roles: dear friend, employer, Church family member, sorority sister, and role model. She inspired me to be a Kindergarten teacher back in 1979 & 80 when I cadet taught in her class. Thank you, Pat, for your guidance, love and friendship over the years. May you rest in peace, my friend.

  6. This was my statement on Facebook: Pat and her husband Bill (who was Principal of Mooresville High School) will always be among my favorite people from my time at the Mooresville-Decatur Times newspaper (1992-2001). Pat was always supportive of me, even when I wrote Editorials critical of the town or Council because, as she told me, she knew my position was intended for the betterment of the town and not out of malice. A couple of times, out of the kindness of their hearts, they invited me to their private Christmas parties, even though they knew I would politely decline because others may see that as a conflict of interest. RIP Pat and many many prayers for Bill, their sons and grandchildren. Pat definitely earned a valued spot in the history of Mooresville, Indiana. — Scott Daravanis

  7. Pat & I have become many great friends, we have worked over 30 years together. We loved Childrens Park, we loved bringing Children to love of listening, learning, & caring for one another. 8. I was honored to be a fellow teacher with Pat at Newby Elementary. She was an outstanding teacher who loved children. Pat and Bill are a treasure in our community. Pat was a servant leader who put the interest of others above her own self interest. Dr. Bill and Linda Roberson

  9. Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.

  10. Pat like Bill, always made you feel welcome.. be you a wee one or a contemporary. She was a gracious giving joyful person… a delight of serving kindness and sharing goodness. She did what we all should attempt… made all things better where ever…and when ever. We are blessed and fortunate that she made our community her home. I will ever hold her in memory as a wonderful example of profound good. Blessings to her family.

  11. My love and prayers are going out to the Overholser family. As a child, I was lucky enough to live next door to the Overholser family and Pat became my second Mooresville mom. She was such a wonderful, creative lady who had the best laugh ever. One of my favorite memories was her love for Barry Manilow. She played his albums and went to his concert. To me, she ranked #1 in the Coolest Mom category of life. I will forever remember Pat and my love and prayers are flowing for the Overholser family. Nancy “Newcomer” Murphy

  12. I remember Pat as a vibrant, talented lady who gave so much to the Mooresville community. It was a delight to have known her. My deepest sympathies to Bill, Scott, Jeff, and family. Mary Lee Bowman

  13. So many memories of her from the when we first met. She was one of my boys Kindergarten teacher, she gave me my first and only job. I loved Children’s Park, I had so much fun there. Rick and I enjoyed the time we shared with both of them. She has touched so many lives. God Bless the entire family.
