Patricia “Patty” Lee Mowery, 88, of Camby, passed away on December 17, 2025, just three days short of her 89th birthday. She was born in Columbus, Indiana on December 20, 1936, to the late Casper Beinburg and Carrie (McMechan) Beinburg Eckart. Patty graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1953 and thoroughly enjoyed attending all the basketball games with her friends.
Patty married Carl J. Mowery on November 16, 1957, and he survives.
She worked in several different office and clerical jobs throughout the years, including one with the Indianapolis Water Company. Patty retired from Valley Mills Elementary School, where she was a cashier and lunch lady.
Patty was a faithful member of Lifeline Baptist Church in Camby. She volunteered much of her time to preparing funeral meals for members and enjoyed singing at church. She also volunteered for Berean Baptist Church with the Bearing Precious Seed Non-profit organization, assembling Bibles, as well as volunteering at the Indianapolis Zoo.
Patty’s love for Christ and for others was evident in all she did. She was a great caretaker for her daughter, Janet, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. In her free time, Patty enjoyed cooking, reading, and working on crossword and Sudoku puzzles. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Patty is preceded in death by her brothers, William Thomas Beinburg and Jack Lewis Beinburg.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Carl Mowery; son, Bob Mowery (Theresa); daughters, Sandy Mowery and Janet Mowery; grandchildren, Robby Mowery (Priscilla Horn), Patrick Mowery (Jennifer), Keith Jennings (Ashley), and Steven Jennings; and great-grandchildren, Eli, Arianna, and Roxanne Mowery, and Quinton, Jackson, Greyson, Charleigh, Hudson, and Cooper Jennings.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Lifeline Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Lindsay officiating. Burial will follow in Fairfield Friends Cemetery.
