Paul E Smithers

Paul E. Smithers, 72, Camby, died March 24, 2016, in St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis. Mr. Smithers was born December 11, 1943, in Kentucky.

He worked as a truck driver for many years at various places of employment including H&H and Vogel Trucking. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and traveling. Paul will be missed by his loving family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Samuel and Joe Smithers; step-daughters, Phyllis Lira, Geraldine Lehr, and Linda LaMaster; step-son, Michael Gunter.

Survivors include his wife, Christine (Tucker) Smithers; step children, Joe Gunter (Laraine) of Mooresville, Ricky Gunter (Vicky) of Indianapolis, Jim Gunter (Anna) of Morgantown, and Robert Gunter (Elaine), Rosie Puttoff of Underwood, Connie Smith (George) of Indianapolis, and Carolyn Marie of Indianapolis; 30 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and a host of great great grandchildren.

The funeral service will begin at 12 Noon, Monday, March 28, 2016, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, with calling there from 10 a.m. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
