Robert M. “Bob” Smith, 79 of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 18 at Methodist Hospital in their Yellow Rose Unit. Bob was born in Vandalia, IN on September 24, 1935 to Leon and Gretchen (Wilson) Smith, they precede him in death. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Rosetta Ann (Steinbrook) Smith, three children, Vance Robert Smith of Mooresville, Valerie Ann Bain of Martinsville and Vincent Lee Smith of Dallas, Georgia; his sister, Donna K. Dolson-Percher of Indianapolis; Six grandchildren, Josh, Amanda, Jennifer, Craig, Cameron and Candace and four great grandchildren. Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Chester Leon Smith and his grandson, Chad Smith. Bob enjoyed being active in FFA events at the local, state and national level for many years, was a former president for the Mooresville High School Booster Club, enjoyed volunteering at many sporting events at Mooresville High School, played a key role in starting various sporting leagues throughout Mooresville and was active with the Morgan County traveling baseball team; Bob looked forward to spending the winter months in Florida. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23 at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville with calling there from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
