Leon was a great guy, and I will miss him. I know he will be missed by many – family and friends alike. I did not see him often, but I loved him greatly as he was Lisa’s father and played such an important part in raising her – one of the most generous and caring people I have ever known. John Daerr

Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of our family. Enlighten our hearts and minds that we may live more fully this vocation to love. In our daily life and work, may we reflect the self-giving love which you, O Father, eternally show with your Son and the Holy Spirit. Let your love be evident in the peace that reigns in our home and in the faith we profess and live. May our family always be a place of generosity, understanding, forgiveness and joy. Kindly give us the wisdom and courage to be witnesses to your eternal design for the family; and grant that the Holy Family of Nazareth may always guide our path to holiness as a family. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
Love you, grandpa.
My condolences to all the family, friends, and love ones, of our dear Leon. We can all be assured that Leon is resting comfortably in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ and we shall all meet again. …. Leon was more than just a friend to me and to countless individuals that he has touched in his life. I met Leon when I was young and early in my career at the “Phone Company”. Although Leon and I did not work in the same work group, for some reason Leon took me under his wing. I am so grateful that he did! Leon not only taught me about my job but about life. Leon and I spent hours working and just talking together. We shared the good times and well as the not so good times. Leon and I crossed paths many times and worked together later in our careers. Leon was always, “Leon”. Count me among the many that will always cherish the times we were together and will be forever grateful to God that He brought us together. – Larry Reynolds
I lived next door to Nancy & Leon. I was the babysitter for the children. I remember Leon really liked his cars! All Cadillacs ! He was a good neighbor. Love, Brenda Wozny

Prayer – The Chaplet of Divine Mercy Go to site: http://www.thedivinemercy.org/message/devotions/praythechaplet.php The Divine Mercy Message and Devotion The message of The Divine Mercy is simple. It is that God loves us – all of us. And, he wants us to recognize that His mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call upon Him with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others. Thus, all will come to share His joy. The Humble Instrument Sister Faustina was a young, uneducated nun in a convent of the Congregation of Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Poland during the 1930s. She came from a poor family that struggled during the years of World War I. She had only three years of simple education, so hers were the humblest tasks in the convent, usually in the kitchen or garden. However, she received extraordinary revelations — or messages — from our Lord Jesus. Jesus asked Sr. Faustina to record these experiences, which she compiled into notebooks. These notebooks are known today as the Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, and the words contained within are God’s loving message of Divine Mercy. Though the Divine Mercy message is not new to the teachings of the Church, Sr. Faustina’s Diary sparked a great movement, and a strong and significant focus on the mercy of Christ. Saint John Paul II canonized Sr. Faustina in 2000 making her the ‘first saint of the new millennium.’ Speaking of Sr. Faustina and the importance of the message contained in her Diary, the Pope call her ‘the great apostle of Divine Mercy in our time.’ Today, we continue to rely of St. Faustina as a constant reminder of the message to trust in Jesus’ endless mercy, and to live life mercifully toward others. We also turn to her in prayer and request her intercession to our merciful Savior on our behalf. At the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
This is such a beautiful and powerful prayer that opens the gates of mercy from Our Lord and Savior. We have been saying so many prayers for the family and for Leon’s soul. May God’s love comfort all of you and fill you with peace. — John & Amy Griffin
Dad always had a sense of humor. There was one night many years ago. Most of us were still in school, so we should have been sleeping, but I decided I would rather have a spelling bee. I did not know he had been standing at the bedroom door with a smile on his face trying not to laugh. ‘Alright. Now go to sleep!’ That was one time I remember falling asleep with a smile on my face. He loved all of his children and grandchildren amd we shared our love for him immensely.
Dear Griffin Family — you have been such a blessing! Thank you for you prayers, kindness, friendship and wonderful meals.
John, we received you voice message — it was great to hear your voice. Thank you for your kind words – during this time we remember and pray for your wonderful parents. Your friendship is a constant blessing.
I can honestly say that when I think of Leon I remember his amazing smile. Whenever I saw him he would smile and lighten the room. I was blessed to know him and his beautiful wife and even more blessed to have his daughter, Lisa as my friend. Leon will live on in our memories and I will miss him terribly. Love, Kristi Butner

Leon was a GREAT MAN!! May he rest in Peace. Isn’t it ironic that he passed on Valentines day on a Sunday. God knows Leon had a heart of gold filled with love. He always thought of others before himself in everything he did in life. He was a man that I will always cherish and be remembered as a father to me. He will be greatly missed. May God Bless him and his family…Always!! Casey Cooper
I’m so sorry to hear of Leon’s passing and send my condolences to his family. I know you were in his thoughts at all times. Leon was a great Lions Club mentor for me and I’m sure many others in Lions. Without his tireless dedication, the go cart race fundraiser would never have become a reality. He will certainly be missed. Betty Kale Trusty
