Sarah Carlene Foster

July 8, 1940 ~ January 20, 2026

Born in: Wheat, Tennessee
Resided in: Mooresville, Indiana

Sarah Carlene Foster, of Mooresville, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, peacefully passed away on January 20, 2026, at the age of 85 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on July 8, 1940, in Wheat, Tennessee, to the late Carl McKeehan and Maggie (Babb) McKeehan.

She graduated from Sunbright High School with the class of 1958. Marrying Earl Foster on March 3, 1962, Sarah shared a lifetime of love and memories with her devoted husband. Aside from caring for her growing family, she worked several jobs over the years including as a laundress at Miller’s Merry Manor in Mooresville, a bus aide for Mooresville Schools, a housekeeper at Meadow Lakes, and as a custodian at Kohl’s. No matter what she was doing her commitment to caring for others served as a testament to her heart and unwavering dedication. She touched the lives of many during her years of service, always bringing warmth and comfort to those in her care rather that be in or outside her home.

She enjoyed planting flowers, shopping, and finding any reason to gather her family-whether for a meal at Pizza Hut or Olive Garden, or simply spending time together. She treasured all time spent with family and cherished pictures documenting each of their lives. She took pride in canning and often found joy in sitting outside, watching the traffic go by. A good cook and avid baker, she was well known for her homemade lasagna, dumplings, zucchini bread, and her much-loved peanut butter balls.

Sarah will be deeply missed by many included her beloved husband, Earl Foster of Mooresville; children, Dan (wife, Kimberly) Foster of Camby, Dennis (wife, Kelly) Foster of Mooresville, Kimberly Sutton of Mooresville, Darrell (wife, Rhonda) Foster of Mooresville, and David Foster of Mooresville; sister, Gwynn Bingham of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Camron Crawley, Cadie Werden, Michael Daws, Morgan Daws, Sarah Foster, and Jennifer Williams; and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Maggie McKeehan; sister, Ima Jo Fox; and brother, Randy Lynn McKeehan
