Sheilia Luccille Layton

Sheilia Luccille Layton, 84, of Camby, died Friday, October 13, 2023 at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital in Mooresville. She was born on May 15, 1939 in Greencastle, Indiana to the late Delmar Redding and Martha (White) Redding Coffey.
She was a dedicated homemaker taking great pride in caring for her family and others. She married the love of her life, Samuel Clarence Layton III, on April 16, 1974. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2022.
She enjoyed quilting, adult coloring, and deer watching. She relished the time spent with family. When she was unable to be face to face with her family, she enjoyed using her IPAD to FaceTime.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends including her son, Joseph Moorefield Jr. “Buster” (wife, Chrstina) of Camby and Danny Hall of Indianapolis; daughter, Linnie (husband, Tracy) Purchase of Forest City, Iowa and Mary Hampton of Indianapolis; and several grandchildren.
Sheilia was preceded in death by her mother and father, Martha and Delmar; brother, Delmar Redding; and sisters, Virginia Abrams, Carol Lockard, and CC Riddel.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service and Crematory in Mooresville. Sheilia will be laid to rest following a graveside service in Brooklyn Cemetery on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 1:00 pm.

Many of Thanksgiving dinners with her yeast Rolls it was always a fun Thanksgiving playing with our cousins riding a pony it was a Shetland just a lot of good memories bless you Lenny Buster Paul.
Going to the pumpkin patch with mom dad you Will and Traylin when you would come visit us in Iowa. Sitting on the floor in moms kitchen coloring that little white pumpkin with Traylin. Traylin misses you a great deal Nue and so do I grandma
Loved seeing her enjoy Tennessee mountains when she stayed in Tennessee with us.she loved Vulcan our Pit but her name was pup dog and she let us know his name is pup dog.my aunt you were but I always called you mom.forever in my ❤️.dance in heaven mom .love you reta Wilson and Fish
Mom you will always be apart of my heart . You and Pop always made me welcomed in your home in my youth . It was like my 2nd home .. I think I spent more time at your house then I did my own . You will be sadly missed . Thank you to you and Pop for some great childhood memories .

She was amazing sweet woman whose love for God was very bright and the love for her family was also very bright. I will miss her funny sassy attitude and how she’ll call me ill miss planing pranks with her to play.
