42, of Greencastle, passed away on July 26, 2023 at home. Steve was born on September 16, 1980 in Martinsville, Indiana to the late James Brice Gilman and Brenda Lee, who survives.
Steve was a talented, hardworking carpet installer for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his son Michael, playing video games Diablo and War Craft, playing dominoes, studying the bible, fishing, or watching movies, especially Lord of the Rings, Stargate, and Gold Rush. He will be remembered as a quiet, smart young man, who had a big heart that would help anyone in need.
He is survived by his son Michael Gilman; mother Brenda Lee; brothers Brice Gilman, James Tyler Gilman; nieces Danielle Gilman, Madelyn Gilman; uncles Bobby Lee, Bruce Lee; close friends Chris Shepherd, Andy Shepherd, Jaden Warner, Jen Warner as well as a host of cousins, and extended family and friends.
The family will host a private celebration of Steve’s life September 16, 2023.
