Steven Allen Wray, 53, of Martinsville, passed from this earthly life on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis with family at his side. He was born to Danny Allen Wray and Beverly Ann (Mendenhall) Wray on August 9, 1971 in Beech Grove.
He graduated from Monrovia High School with the class of 1990. He was a proud UAW #933 Machinist at Rolls Royce in Indianapolis and in August would have been 28 years with the company.
On May 29, 2010, he married his best friend and life partner, June Paterson. Steven was a true outdoorsman. He loved four wheeling, riding side-by-sides, hunting, fishing, and building and working on trucks. Above all, he adored his family and especially his grandchildren. Truly all his hobbies were made even more enjoyable when he could share them with his grandchildren. He also wasn’t too proud to put his ego aside and join the tea party or play dress up if it meant spending quality time with his grandchildren!
He is survived by his family and friends including his wife, June Wray of Martinsville; son, Alexander Wray of Martinsville; daughter, Anna Wray of Mooresville; parents, Danny and Beverly Wray of Mooresville; brothers, David (wife, Christie Sutton) Wray of Monrovia and Joshua Wray of Mooresville; sister, Liz (husband, Matt) Franklin of Bedford; and grandchildren, Isabella, Benjamin, Kendall, and Freya.
He was preceded in death by his cousin and best friend, Eddie Mendenhall.
