Steven Fredrick Stiles

November 11, 1955 ~ May 14, 2024
Steven Fredrick Stiles, 68, a lifelong Morgan County resident, passed from this life suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at his home. He was born in Martinsville on November 11, 1955 to the late Harold Curtis Stiles and Patricia A. (Gillespie) Stiles.
Steve graduated from Martinsville High School with the class of 1974. As a young adult, he worked at the Martinsville Reporter Times. He then worked for Marion Adams Flooring in Mooresville. In 2006, he took a job with the Town of Mooresville Public Works Department and retired in 2020.
He married Kimberly Kaye Kemble on April 24, 1993. An avid outdoorsman, Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, and archery. He was a member of the Martinsville Sportsman Conservation Club. With a natural gift for working with his hands, he also enjoyed woodworking. As a jack of all trades and a man who continuously wore a hat, it could be said that he wore many hats literally and figuratively. He had a happy, go lucky, and funny demeanor that his family will always remember.
He will be missed by his family including his wife of over 31 years, Kim Stiles of Mooresville; sons, Shawn Stiles of Martinsville and Scott (wife, Malini) Stiles of Morgantown; brother, Joseph (wife, Teresa) Stiles of Martinsville; sisters, Sue (husband, Rolly) Hammons of Martinsville, Patricia (husband, Bob) Hanson of Springfield, Missouri, Nancy (husband, Joe) Vondersaar of Indianapolis, and Karen (husband, Max) Prather of Martinsville; and seven beloved grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Patricia and Harold.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, May 22nd from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. Steve’s Life Celebration® Service will immediately follow beginning at 12:00 noon. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
