Tommy Henson Jr.
68, of Camby, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2020 at home, surrounded by family. Tommy was born September 15, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Susanna (Collins) and Tommy Henson Sr.

Tommy was a graduate of Mooresville High School. After high school he worked various jobs including construction and for the Railroad. He was a member of the Rail Workers Union #120. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, taking spur of the moment road trips to North Carolina and Tennessee. He was described as a great man who deeply loved his family, but was known as the family jokester as he loved to play practical jokes on them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, George “Butch” Henson, John Henson; sisters, Molly Jean Jackson and Joyce Ann Henson.

He is survived by his wife; Melissa (Kenworthy) Henson of Camby; children Danny Henson, Patricia Forler, Michele Hannon, Rebecca Scott, Michael LeCompte; siblings Willie Lee Henson of Camby, Eva Mae Phillips of Indianapolis, Don Henson of Spencer, Charles “Bo” Henson of Mooresville, Patricia Smith of Manchester, Kentucky, Wanda Ruth Henson of Camby, Dennis Paul Henson of Camby, Joe Henson of Mooresville, Donna Sue Henson of Camby, and Martha Jo Blankenship of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren Riley Henson, Ethan Henson, Piper Henson, Brianna MacMillan, Kaitlin Forler, Destiny Forler, Micaela Forler, Joshuah Fuller, Jonathon Fuller, Emma Hawkins, Ethan Hawkins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 23rd from 12-2pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with funeral services beginning at 2pm Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.

I will always remember Tommy as a nice man he loved his family he was closest to his twin sister Ruth I will always remember being a part of his family with joy in my heart ive kept Tommy and his family in my prayer’s and will continue to do that especially at this time with a gentle reminder that those who morn shall be comforted Matthew 5:4 in my mind praying you will all turn to our Lord and Savior in that he is Faithful!

I just watched the funeral for Tommy Jr. And I am really happy they played precious memories .Dear family You can take comfort in this when Tommy and I were married I would go to church and sometimes Tommy would go too . We talked about the Lord quite a bit and Tommy was a good singer .We used to sing that song Precious memories it was one of Tommy’s favorites and it was also one of mine and my grandma’s So take some comfort in knowing Tommy Jr. did love the Lord !
