May 20, 1968 ~ March 5, 2025

Born in: Indianapolis, Indiana
Resided in: Mooresville, Indiana

Travis Glenn Green, 56, lifelong Mooresville resident, beloved Route 10 mailman, and cherished friend of many, died suddenly of a massive heart attack March 5, 2025.  Travis was born on May 20, 1968, in Indianapolis to the late John L. Green and Susan (Ehrensperger) Green Bryson, who survives.

Travis graduated from Mooresville High School in 1986, where he was involved in the student newspaper.  For the past 37 years, Travis has been a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, proudly delivering to his beloved route 10 residents.  He loved his job, he loved Mooresville, and he loved the people of Mooresville.  This was at Travis’ core, and his genuine goodness was an absolute gift to his community.

An avid history buff, he enjoyed voraciously reading, working jigsaw puzzles, listening to music from the 70’s and 80’s (on his jukebox of course), and was a self-proclaimed grammar policeman.  He was proud of his home, affectionally referred to as Green Manor, and delighted in decorating for Halloween and Christmas.  Halloween even involved an annual open house for friends, church family, and his loyal route 10 residents.  Travis was passionate about golf and the St. Louis Cardinals.  He was a regular at the Mooresville Public Library and, as such, was appropriately serving as the Vice President of the Friends of the Library.  He was also a competitive Scrabble player, even playing in tournaments from time to time.  To say that Mooresville has lost a true friend is an understatement.  Travis will be fondly remembered for his kindness and genuine care and concern for others.  The world could benefit if everyone was more like Travis.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tracy, and his stepfather, Don Bryson.

Survivors include his loving mother, Sue Bryson.

Travis’ Life Celebration® Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2025, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.  The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 12, 11 a.m., in the First United Methodist Church, 900 Indianapolis Road, with Pastor Jon Stemerick officiating.  Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Mooresville Free Methodist Church or the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at church.  Visit www.CarlisleBranson.com to share a favorite memory or to sign the online guest registry.

Guestbook

  1. Travis was a light that shined that never went out. He had The love of the Lord in his heart, and it reached out to everyone he came in contact with. This kind soul will not be easily forgotten and is an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Our loss is his reward, not only will he see Jesus face to face but his twin and all hat have paved the way before him. Rest high on that mountain Travis, your great works here on Earth are done , singing praises to the Father and the Son.

  2. Travis was a gift to so many people. He will be missed by so many. Rest in peace. Prayers for the entire family.

  3. Travis shined God’s light everywhere he went. A devoted son, brother, and friend to all. He will be sorely missed. But now Sue has one more reunion to look forward to when she gets Home. Much love being sent your way, Sue.

  4. I have such awesome memories of Travis and his brother, Tracy, growing up in the same neighborhood together. Memories of games of kickball, whiffle ball, baseball, etc.

I loved reconnecting with Travis over social media the past several years. The world lost a great man and I am honored to call my friend. Until we reunite in Heaven, Travis.

  5. He was my parents mailman for many many years! He was wonderful to my parents and was always a joy to talk to when I would get the mail from him for my parents.

  8. We met on Facebook and just chatted. I was down one day, and we talked about it. He asked me for my address. A few days later I get a card from him with a very nice sentiment and $20. He said, “take your self out to a nice dinner on me.” Who does that? Well, Travis was that man. Kind and supportive. We have chatted over these many years, we called each other “brother,” a term used to signify you are more than just a friend, that you really matter in someones life. For many years, my child wrote to Santa, and Santa always wrote back! Travis, you are a treasure to so many, I miss and love you brother.
