Virginia Lee Stuart, 92, of Mooresville, passed suddenly at her home on Monday, June 16, 2025. She was born in Swifton, Arkansas on September 8, 1932 to the late Jessie Barker and Tempie (Young) Barker.
At just 16 years old, she married the love of her life, Earl Stuart, on October 5, 1948. The two had enjoyed nearly 75 years of marriage when he passed August 26, 2023. Virginia worked for several years as a clerk and in the pharmacy at Haag Drug Store on Washington Street in Indianapolis. But her true calling was caring for her family and being a great wife, mother, grandmother, and more. She was an active “room mom” and served on the PTA. She was a member of the Pleasant Heights Baptist Church where she worked funeral dinners, volunteered in the church office, and served in the nursery. An excellent cook, many will recall her delicious brownies, peanut butter cookies, fudge, and pecan pies. Additionally, she enjoyed gardening and was especially fond of red roses and mums in the fall.
Virginia will be missed by her family and friends including her son, Mark Stuart (Jeff Hess) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; daughters, Debra (Roger) Caperton of Camby and Jeannie White of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Chad Caperton (Brigett), Zachary White, Andrea White; great grandchildren, Kyah Caperton (Alex Brown), Collin Caperton, Lila Caperton, and Everly Caperton; and great great grandchild, Greyson Brown.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, June 19th from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. Virginia’s Life Celebration® Service will follow beginning at 5:00 pm at the funeral home.

Virginia was a favorite patient of mine when I worked at the dental office. Always so sweet and put together, such a beautiful lady. I am truly sorry for your loss. She will be missed.
