Wanda Hillman Payne, 80, Brooklyn, died surrounded by her loving family May 3, 2015. Mrs. Payne was born May 10, 1934, in Brooklyn, to the late Arthur and Mary (Tackett) Hillman.

Wanda worked for a brief period of time for Automotive Armature. She was a faithful member of the Brooklyn Church of the Nazarene. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she always enjoyed family get togethers and playing cards.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Payne; brothers, Chester “Tip”, Barney, Art, Charles, and John Hillman; sisters, Georgia Burton, Velvia Riddle, Betty Crow, and Hazel Laveranze.

Survivors include one son, William Charles “Billy” Payne, Jr.; daughters, Darlene Thompson, Ruby Compton, and Ruth Thacker; sisters, Liz Record of Bethany and Barbara “Bocky” Hansel of Indianapolis; brother, Tommy Hillman; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2015, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Mooresville Cemetery. Aunt Wanda, She was also a great woman , I remember her when I was just a little girl, they live in Brooklyn, In. and we would come to grandma and grandpa house in Brooklyn, she would have her twin, they was the cutest young girls, and her son too. It has been along time sense I have seen her, Iam so sorry for your lost. But sound like she went to Church, so that is a good thing, to know that she is with our Lord and Savior.
