William "Bill" Crayton

William “Bill” Crayton

Of Mooresville, passed away peacefully at home on November 13, 2024, in the same home he was born in 82 years ago. Bill was born on March 23, 1942 to the late Ralph Emerson Crayton and Ida Mae (Perry) Crayton.

A hard-working man, Bill worked as a laborer for many years. Whether it was on the railroad, concrete or construction, he could do it all. Bill proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Mt. Gilead Church. He will be remembered for his zest for living life to its fullest, his fun-loving demeanor, who didn’t know a stranger and his incredible kindness. It is safe to say he marched to the beat of his own drum!

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Betty Anderson, Nina Cordray, and Ralph Crayton.

He is survived by his wife, Diana (Adams) Crayton; his children Shenandoah Crayton, Patience Crayton-Asher (Michael), Jonah Crayton (Raquel), Dallas Crayton (Kara); grandchildren Alika King (Megan), Jonas Crayton (Deborah), Isabella Crayton, Gabriel Crayton (Arianna), Elias Crayton, Shaelynn Crayton, Dalynn George, and 5 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Bill’s life on Friday, November 22nd from 3-6pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. A time of sharing memories will begin at 6pm, Friday in the funeral home.
