Anna K. Conners
89, of Plainfield, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Brooke Knoll Village in Avon. Anna was born on February 1, 1934 in Noblesville, Indiana to the late Michael Herron and Evelyn (Burris) Herron.
At the ripe age of 15, she met the love of her life at a dance hall in Greenfield, Indiana. Admittedly, she thought his brother was more handsome and had “better hair”, but Grandpa won her over with the pitter patter of his dancing shoes. They would spend the next 62 years in love and laughter. Together they raised 4 children and waltzed their way across 3 states before his passing.
Aside from running their home and raising their children, Anna served as church secretary for Lighthouse Mission in Terre Haute, Indiana for many years, alongside her husband, Rev. Richard E. Conners. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cheering her great grandchildren on in their various activities, letting game officials know her displeasure with their calls, her dogs, doing puzzles and crochet. In her later years, she continued the dancing tradition making Tik Tok videos with her great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor, her storytelling, as well as being passionate, fiercely independent, and always stubborn. She will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Richard E. Conners, and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children, Stephen (Cindy) Conners, Sharla (Roy) Flynn, Jeffrey Conners, David (Kathy) Conners; five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Anna’s life will be celebrated by her family privately. She will be cremated and laid to rest next to her husband in South Carolina.
Final arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
