Charles Robert “Chuck” Behrens, 65, of Indianapolis, died Thursday, February 15, 2024 at the Meadow Lakes in Mooresville. He was born on February 28, 1958 in San Patricio, Texas to the late Charles Reed Behrens and Margie Faye (Baggot) Behrens.
Chuck graduated from Mooresville High School in 1976. He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably. He married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Rose, on July 2, 1981. He worked as a truck driver and greatly enjoyed his time behind the wheel. Unfortunately, due to health issues he has been unable to work for several years.
He enjoyed sailing, shooting pool, going to the movies, roller skating, and family time. A jokester, he enjoyed bringing a smile and a laugh to others. With a thirst for knowledge, he had a curious mind and wanted to know as much as he could and would research science, history, cars, and technology. He also had a heart of gold and wanted to do what he could for others. His family recalls a Thanksgiving that he insisted on working in order to ensure that soldiers overseas would receive their mail. This is one of many examples of him serving others.
He leaves behind a host of loving family and friends including his wife, Barbara Behrens of Indianapolis; son, Charles Behrens II (wife, Shelli) of Salem, Ohio; daughters, Brandy Behrens of Linton, Amanda Behrens (husband, Kyle Collins) of Mooresville, and Stefanie Behrens (husband, Jason Martin of Indianapolis; sister, Mable Frink of Dugger; brother-in-law, Terry Rose of Indianapolis; and grandchildren, Maddy, Bobby, Sammy, Abby, Claira, KK, Jayce, Jerry, Brandon, and Aurora.
