Cory Adam Alford

November 12, 1976 ~ November 16, 2021
Cory Adam Alford, 45, Martinsville, passed away unexpectedly November 16, 2021. Cory was born November 12, 1976, in Danville, to Anthony P. and Susan (Bush) Alford, who survive.
Cory attended Mooresville Elementary Schools and Martinsville High School. Cory held various jobs, most recently painting and doing body work on cars. He worked for a period of time with his mom, painting and hanging wallpaper. Cory also worked in the produce department at the IGA in Ellettsville. While the produce was not his favorite thing, Cory’s ability to connect with customers was something he excelled at naturally. Cory was a people person – he could walk into a room full of strangers and leave with a room full of friends. He was a natural and easy conversationalist, never judgmental, warm and always kind and generous. Cory loved music especially rock & roll and was an avid Miami Hurricanes fan. Cory will be fondly remembered by a loving family and many friends for his kind and gentle manner.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ira and Nancy Bush; paternal grandparents, Albert and Ella Alford; aunts, Linda Carson and Nancy Scaggs; uncles Jerry Alford and Curt Atwood.
Survivors include his loving parents, Tony & Sue Alford; aunts and uncles, Rick Carson, Dave (Mitzi) Bush, Dawn (Keith) Brown, Rusty (Pam) Bush, Roger Scaggs, Faye Alford, Judy Atwood, Kay (Bill) Angel, and Al (Eileen) Alford.

Cory was always very respectful and willing to help me out if I needed any help due to an automobile accident I couldn’t do slot of things like I used to be came down on a Saturday in June and worked till almost daylight the next day in getting one side of my yard on the side of my house dug up and m uhh bushes and flowers planted out mulch down and other things that you just took it upon himself to do it fix for me. Cory was always laughing or telling you something that happened or making you laugh at what he was talking about. I remember that evening my dog was playing around with him and somehow jumped on him and ripped the backend out of his pants he just laughed about it and wanted to know if we had some pants to put on. He was a character and a good soul to be around. Sure am going to miss his laugh and out of no where texting me and asking if I’m ok or if I needed anything. RIP Cory you will be sadly missed but always in my memory and heart.
Cory was a high school boyfriend and best friend throughout my life. He will always be in my heart and my love and condolences go out to Sue and Tony Alford, who have played a part as parents to me as well. I love you both. Fly high my dear friend. Love Suzi Deckard
