Lana Earlene Potter

Lana E. Potter, 76, of Eminence, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Cumberland Trace in Plainfield with her loving family at her bedside. Born July 20, 1940 in Bangor, Maine, Lana was the daughter of Earl and Arlene (Rideout) Shaw; her parents preceded her in death. On June 24, 1958 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Linwood G. Potter and he survives.
Lana worked as a CNA and in medical records for various nursing homes for many years; she retired from Bethany Village in Indianapolis. She was a faithful member of Gasburg Baptist Church. A loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Lana enjoyed cooking, tending to her home, sewing, and tending to her flower gardens.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Linwood; her son, Linwood G. (Susan) Potter of Cynthiana, Kentucky; two daughters, Shelly (Elmer) Stewart of Indianapolis, and Nancy (Mike) Loy of Indianapolis; her sister, Nancy Haley of Brunswick, Maine; five grandchildren, Duane, Brandon, Ashley, Lindsey, and Caleb; and seven great grandchildren.
Services will held for Lana E. Potter privately and at a later date. Final care and cremation were entrusted to the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. I knew Lana and Linny from the days Linny, my brother-in-law Pete Melgard and I worked at Link-Belt in the 60’s. Played cards every Fri. nite with Lana,Linny,Pete and my sister Mildred. Had a lot of good times together. So sorry about Lana. Loved her friendly disposition. Allan Young,Greenwood
