Amanda Lee “Mandy” Freeman, 57 of Martinsville, passed away during the early morning hours on Friday, February 17, 2017 at her home. She was born November 14, 1959 in LaPorte, Indiana to Burton Willis Mickelson and Mary Ann (Stoner) Mickelson.

Mandy worked as a cook at Northwood Elementary School in Mooresville for several years and at Scholar’s Inn, Bloomington. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Eagles Lodge, and American Legion all in Mooresville.

Her husband, Jesse “Gene” Freeman, Sr. preceded her in death on August 14, 2004

Survivors include her father, Burt (Karen) Mickelson of Noblesville; mother, Mary Ann Petro of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; Her loving fiancé of 8 years, J.R. Coomer of Martinsville; three sons, Jesse (Fiancé Skylar Bowman) Freeman of Indianapolis, Ryan Main of Delray Beach, Florida, Randy (Dyana Gray) Main of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Michelle (Matt) Ruhnow of Fishers, and Sarah (Steven) Goode of Martinsville; two sisters, Kim (Fiancé, Al) Mickelson of New Carlisle, Indiana, and Annie (Eddie) Prentkowski of Niles, Michigan; nine grandchildren and one grandchild on the way.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Mandy Freeman from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville.   1. We only knew Mandi for a few years as she and JR were together but, she made Sheryl and me feel as we had known her forever ❤️. Mandi was so friendly & caring and fun to be with and easy to talk with…she truly will be missed. She was a perfect fit out here with JR and will certainly make heaven even better.

  2. Mandy was such a wonderful person. Her laugh will be one that I will never forget. My prayers are with J.R. and her family. Blessed to have known her.

  3. My condolences to Mandy’s family. She was the sweetest person. Always had a smile and loved those kids! I first met her thru her cousin Tim Harris in hiigh school. Terry (my first wife) and I were close friends with Mandy and Randy for several yrs. (Michelle, Randy jr. and (expecting another son ?) in Rolling Prairie and Mich City. before we moved and lost track. They say the good diie young. This couldnt be more true with Mandy.
