Sarah Jane Douglas

Sarah Jane Douglas, 64 of Mooresville, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on February 19, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born September 17, 1950 in Solsberry, Indiana to the late Chester and Fern (Britton) Porter. As a homemaker, Sarah Jane devoted her life to her family, always placing the needs of others before her own; she loved cooking and reading a good book.
On June 9, 1973 Sarah Jane and her husband, Ron Douglas were united in marriage; he survives. Other survivors include her brother, Bernard Porter of Solsberry, Indiana; three sisters, Wanda Allen of Avon, Louise Horn of Mooresville and her twin sister, Martha JoAnn Porter of Solsberry. Her favorite uncle, Harley William Porter preceded her in death.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Monday, February 23 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Rev. Charles Bach will conduct a funeral service on Tuesday, February 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Hanson Cemetery near Bloomington, Indiana.
