  1. Please know that you are in our thoughts and hearts at this difficult time, and may fond memories of Avis ease your sadness.

  2. Avis and I made a lot of great memories when we were kids. There was just a year between us in age. And when I was 4 and she was 5. One day Dad was going after some gas for his mower and he told us to stay in the yard and he would be right back, as soon as he left Avis and I took off, hand in hand, to a little store just about a block away from home to get some jelly beans. We had gotten a little change out of our piggy banks to pay for them. Meanwhile Mom was fixing supper and we hurried to get back before she missed us. We got almost home and here came Dad up the street so we knew we were in big trouble! He pulled in the garage and was standing on the porch watching us come up the sidewalk. He gave us two choices, take a whipping or sit on the front porch swing for an hour. Well I chose the whipping and Avis chose the swing. So I got the whipping and Avis went to the swing and as soon as the whipping was over, I went out and sat on the swing with her until her hour was up. 🙂 She never let me forget that that I took both punishments. We have always been close ever since. So many greats memories! I will miss her so much. Growing up she could drive me crazy but I always loved her because she was my big sister! That’s just one “happy story” that happened when we were “just kids”. Joyce
