Barbara "Alice" Gary

Barbara “Alice” Gary, 73, of Sheridan, died April 28, 2012, in Reid Memorial Hospital, Richmond. Mrs. Gary was born January 18, 1939, in Lee County, Virginia, to the late William Howard and Celia Mae (Powell) Howard.
Mrs. Gary was a graduate of Sheridan High School. She worked for 25 years as the central supply coordinator at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. Mrs. Gary had also resided in Fort Branch, Indiana and Urbana, Ohio. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, but above all, she loved spending time with her family. She was an ever-present mother and “nana”.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Denver, Dale, Vernon, Robert,Clel, and Blain Howard; sisters, Maxine Land, Mary Jane Howard, and Wilma Greene; grandson, Jordan Matthew Merriman.
Survivors include her son, Kevin Gary (Wendy) of Urbana, Ohio; daughter, Michele Kinnick (Tim) of Kirklin, Indiana; brother, Bernard Howard of Fort Branch; sister, Jewel King (Warren) of Virginia; grandchildren, Andrew Calvert (Ashley), Elizabeth Gary, and Melissa Petrov (Ivo); great grandchildren, Kiley, Kayla, and Cameron.
The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Mooresville Cemetery.
