Barbara Bowman

Barbara J. Bowman, 84, Mooresville, died February 1, 2012, in I.U. Hospital Clarian West. Mrs. Bowman was born November 23, 1927, in Indianapolis, to the late Thomas and Josephine (Armstrong) Conner.

She was a homemaker and member of Fleming Garden Christian Church. In addition, Mrs. Bowman was a member of the Red Hat Society, Order of the Eastern Star, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed spending time at the Mooresville Senior Center.

Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Bowman; two sons, Vernon Bowman, Jr., and Timothy Bowman; brother, Thomas Conner.

Survivors include sons, Patrick “Shane” Bowman of Mooresville, Michael Bowman (Cindy) of Lafayette; daughters, Karen “Trena” Swanke (Les) of Ohio and T. Janeen Foreman (Dennis) of Camby; sister, Delores Coverdill of Georgia; 23 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2012.
