Benjamin Bruce Peachee, age 84, of Martinsville, departed this life suddenly on Friday, June 19, 2026 at his home. Benjamin was born on September 11, 1941, in Indianapolis to the late Charles Peachee and Maysel Siler.
Benjamin enjoyed a long and fulfilling career at General Motors, where he served as the lead foreman at Allison Transmission from 1966 until his retirement in 1993. He worked with dedication in the brake and clutch department as well as in the torque converters department, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues throughout his tenure.
After retirement, Benjamin pursued a career as a self-employed long-distance delivery driver, a role he cherished until 2021. He had a passion for collecting coins and stamps and took great joy in traveling. Also, he enjoyed buying things for himself and others, especially tools and birdfeeders. Benjamin was also the proud owner of a beloved dog named Junior, who brought him much joy and companionship. Known for his generosity, he took care of those around him, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, when he bought and delivered groceries to many in need.
Family meant everything to Benjamin. He is survived by his daughter, Carole (husband, David) Smith of Indianapolis; son, Benjamin Brian Peacheen of Indianapolis; sister, Donna Gump of Bend, Oregon; grandchildren, Michael Greene, Nicholas Greene, Zachary Greene, David Greene, and Donna Peachee; and great grandchildren, James Ward.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Chavela Ann Peachee; parents, Charles and Maysel; his first wife, Dorothy June Peachee; step-grandson, David Smith II; brother, William Peachee; and sister, Carol Jean Jacobs.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, June 28th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. His earthly body has been cremated.
