Betty F. Whitney
84, of Mooresville, Indiana passed away on May 28, 2022. Betty was born in Orlinda, Tennessee, to the late Presley and Eddie Starks. As a young girl Betty enjoyed appending summers with her aunts in Tennessee. She married her high school sweetheart, Virgil on March 31, 1956. They were married for 58 years until Virgil passed away in 2014. Betty and he daughter, Kathy had an in home child care business for many years. She enjoyed shopping, playing Rook and Dominoes. Betty spent much of her time volunteering at the Mooresville Senior Center and loved engaging people in conversation and never knew a stranger. She was a member of Eternal Life Baptist Church in Mooresville for many years as well. She was very independent, sassy and strong willed. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Betty is survived by her children; Kathy (Michael) Puls and Keith (Suzanne) Whitney, daughter-in-law; Dawn Whitney, granddaughter; Olivia Whitney, great-grandchildren; Zoe Jackson, Austin Flanagan, Lexi Flanagan and Aaron Flanagan, sisters-in-law; Emma Whitney, Gin (Kenneth) McDole and Clara Smith, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her son; Michael Whitney and grandchildren; Chris and Justin Flanagan.
Visitation will be held at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Cremation on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 11:00am-1:00pm. Funeral Services will be immediately following in the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Eternal Life Baptist Church, 8554 E. Hendricks County Rd., Mooresville, Indiana 46158.
