Billie S. Porter, 78, Mooresville, passed away January 18, 2021, after a brief diagnosis with lung cancer. Billie was born February 10, 1942, in Johnson County, to the late Marion and Hazel (Huckleberry) Duvall.

She worked as an aid at the former Clarks Creek Nursing Home. After marrying her husband, Albert, she enjoyed her greatest vocation as a proud homemaker. Billie loved all kinds of crafts, gardening, canning, and was an excellent cook. She will be fondly remembered for her loyalty and love for her family.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Albert N. Porter; children, Becky (Deward) Hasch, Lorrie (Frank) Clark, Tracey (Richard) Trammell, Tena (Bubba) Abney, Mark Cox, Tom (Rachelle) Cox; brothers, Monte Gene Monroe, Michael Duvall; sister, Vicky Johns; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.

In an effort to keep family and friends safe from the virus, a private family service will be observed later this spring.
