Carl Donald Garrett 

80 of Avon, passed away on November 4, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family. Carl was born on August 19, 1942 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Marvin Cecil Garrett and Maddie Inez (Smith) Garrett. 


Carl proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Carl was an intelligent man, who enjoyed working with his hands. He worked in aviation repair during his days in the Navy and later was a maintenance mechanic for many years. He married the love of his life, Linda (Powell) on February 9, 1973, and would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this coming February. His devotion to his wife and family will be greatly missed. 


In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Michael.


He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Garrett; daughters Carla Ross ( Stacy), Samantha Meece ( TJ); 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. 


Family and friends will gather to celebrate Carl’s life privately, at a later time.
