I’m thinking this happened 1976-1977? I remember Carl had accepted a job in N. Carolina[ I think] He was going to move the family after school let out which was still 4-5 months away. .You could tell he had conflicting feelings about this ‘So off he went to N. carolina and in a short time he’s back home in Shelbyville I’m pretty sure that was when he bought the print shop.He sacrificed what he thought was his future to avoid uprooting his family and moving them were they didn’t want to be. Now I understand thats what a Father and a Husband does!! My thoughts and prayers are with JoAnn and also Vicki,Pam.Paula and Carl Jr. I always liked Carl and I know he will be missed by many . I’ve known Carl since the 50’s. We were friends in high school and beyond. I was in his wedding to JoAnn Smith, my best high school friend. I’ll remember Carl as a quiet, highly intelligent Gentleman. My sympathy and prayers to JoAnn and the family.
I grew up next door to Carl Sr., JoAnn and their family. Carl was always a kind, welcoming, and thoughtful person. I know he will be dearly missed by all that knew him. My deepest sympathy and condolences to JoAnn and her children.
Joann and family so sorry to hear of Carl’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you, please accept my condolences. Fonda Weintraut
I barely knew Carl, but my mother (Jerry Lee) was a supervisor at IPC many years ago. She, too, passed on June 26th ~ 3 years ago. Mom always spoke so highly of him ~ I’m sure she’s joined his welcome home celebration! Though his passing brings you pain, know that he is restored and at peace in the presence of his Lord.
I so loved this man..he was a dear friend of my dads Marvin Jones at IPC so so many years ago. he will be missed and always remembered by so many.
Patty, I remember dad mentioning your mom’s name. I was just a child then. Thanks for sharing! Praying for you today. Blessings!
Thanks Patty. We both thought so much of your mom. I remember Jerry having us to her home in St Paul so many times. We had a lot of fun times.
