Carolyn L. Mason

Carolyn L. Mason, 78, Mooresville, passed away from this life on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at 11 a.m., in her residence, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family and friends.
Carolyn was born in Mooresville, Indiana, on April 17, 1934, to the late Dorman “Red” and Hazel (Phillips) Bean. She was raised in Mooresville and graduated from Mooresville High School with the Class of 1952. On September 26, 1954, she married Paul L. Mason.
Carolyn worked for the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department as a Jail Matron, for the Clerk’s Office, and later retired from Morgan Superior Court 3. She was also a part of Mason & Mason Auction Company. She was a member of Gasburg Baptist Church, past member of the FOP Women’s Auxiliary, Mooresville Order of the Eastern Star, Morgan County Republican Women’s Committee, and Kappa Kappa Sigma. Carolyn also enjoyed traveling, but most of all being with her family who she loved very much.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 58 years, Paul L. “Moose” Mason of Mooresville; daughter, Deborah (Tim) Fraker of Martinsville and son, Paul L. “Butch” (Julie) Mason of Monrovia; grandsons, Charlie Fraker, Aaron Fraker, and Austin Mason; great grandchildren, Braydon Fraker, Trenton Fraker, Jacob Fraker, Kaylee Fraker, and A.J. Fraker.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ellen Bean Shane and her twin sister, Marilyn Bean.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, August 12, 2012, from 2 to 6 p.m., in Gasburg Baptist Church, 11564 Gasburg Road, Mooresville, and from 9 to 10 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2012. Pastors Jack Elliott and Steve Adams will officiate the 10 a.m. funeral service on Monday at church. Burial will follow in White Lick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Carolyn blessed this world with her genuine kindness and loving spirit. We have been honored just to know her and our lives have forever been changed. We are deeply sadened for her wonderful husband, children and family who miss her so deeply. But we know heaven is rejoicing in her Homecoming. And through Jesus, we know we will see her again!! Aunt Carolyn, was on of the kindest, gentlest women I have ever had the privilege to share my life with. Uncle Paul, Butch, and Julie, our hearts go out to you. Paul and Family, We are so very sorry to hear of Carolyn’s passing. She was a wonderful lady. The last time we were together was at Lake Okeechobee in Fl. where we all had lunch together with you and Don and Erna Hawkins.
