Charlene B. Allen

Charlene B. Allen, 83, of Plainfield, passed away suddenly at home on July 16, 2021. Charlene was born October 27, 1937, in Oneida, Tennessee, to the late Sylvester and Elva (Smith) Blevins. She married the love of her life, Johnny Allen, on June 26, 1960, and spent most of their married life in Greenville, South Carolina, and moved to Indiana in 2011.

Charlene was a member of Plainfield Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling in their motor home. A few of her favorite places included Branson, Missouri, Daytona Beach, and Acapulco, Mexico. Charlene never met a stranger. She was the person that her friends and family would come to for advice or just to talk with. She was beloved by all. Through the years she touched many people’s lives with her infectious laugh and genuine love for everyone.

Johnny and Charlene lived on the east coast for many years, but family always brought her out west to see Johnny’s family and back home to Tennessee and Indiana. Family was everything to Charlene. She was always there for Johnny and supported him with anything he wished to do, whether it was his NASCAR Racing or the businesses he operates. Charlene will be greatly missed by her loving family, friends, and especially so by her husband of 61 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Andrew Blevins, Clarence Blevins, and Opal Terry.

Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Johnny Allen; siblings, Oakley (Cheryl) Blevins, Robert (Ann) Blevins, and Zora Winchester; and many nieces and nephews.
