Charles L. Spoon
88 of Martinsville, passed away on June 2, 2020 at St Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. Charles born on August 15, 1931 in Mooresville, IN to the late Floyd B. and Mary Ann (Evans) Spoon.
Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, where he achieved the rank of Corporal. After service, he returned home to start a 40-year career with Newcomer Lumber Company in Mooresville. After retirement, he stayed active working at the Eagle Pines Golf Course. He was a Lifetime member of the V.F.W Post #1111. Later in life, he enjoyed spending time visiting with his friends while having breakfast at McDonalds in Mooresville. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Helen Spoon and Martha Louise Spoon; daughters Karen Coleman, Kathy Marie Lewis; brother Eugene Spoon and a sister Joan Newby.
He is survived by his son Lester Spoon; 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be private. He will be cremated and laid to rest with his wife Helen, in Mooresville Cemetery.
