Charlie Marvin Pennington, Jr., 60, Mooresville, passed away peacefully January 29, 2022. Mr. Pennington was born January 23, 1962, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to the late Charlie Marvin Pennington, Sr. and Betty (Egan) Pennington, who survives. Charlie married Cathy (Huff) Pennington, on December 16, 1980, and she also survives.
He graduated from Franklin Central High School in 1980. Armed with a strong work ethic, Charlie was employed in construction for several years, drove for Jackson Oil, and worked for Prosco Chemicals. Most recently, he was with Pilot, formerly Mr. Fuel for 15 years as a truck driver and fuel manager. Charlie took providing for his family very seriously. He was mechanically inclined and enjoyed working on stock cars and riding motorcycles. He was an avid fisherman and always looked forward to escaping to warmer weather in Florida. Charlie loved to play euchre and played in a couple of card clubs weekly. His memory will be cherished by a loving family and many friends.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Cathy Pennington; sons, Jason Huff, Jeremy Huff, and Joshua (Chelsea) Pennington; mother, Betty Pennington; brothers, Timothy (Tina) Pennington and Danny Pennington; grandson, Bryson Charlie Pennington.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 12, 2022, 6 to 7 p.m, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Services will follow at 7 p.m.

We remember Charlie as an outgoing friendly guy always willing to lend a hand. His mechanical abilities were amazing, keeping all the family vehicles running and being able to fix almost anything. Charlie was very dedicated to his family and was very proud to tell everyone about his grandson Bryson”little Charlie”. He was a great neighbor and a true friend. Our love and sympathy goes out to the family.
