Charlie Ray Sutton

Charlie Ray Sutton, 89, Mooresville, passed away peacefully at home September 9, 2021. Mr. Sutton was born February 22, 1932, in Gamaliel, Kentucky, to the late Clarence and Rosie Mable (York) Sutton.

Armed with an incredibly strong work ethic, Charlie worked at National Aluminum as a punch press operator and later at Advance Plating. He loved gardening – growing thousands of tomatoes each year that were sold at Anderson Orchard. He also enjoyed auctions, classic cars, and farming. Charlie’s memory will be cherished by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Danny, Louise, Dude, Ruth, Esther, Vester, Floyd, Beulah, Ruby, Earl, and Dean.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Loretta (Scott) Sutton; daughter, Mettie "Nita" Dunz; sister, Elise Spears.

Charlie’s visitation will be Thursday, September 16, 2021, 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Funeral services will follow at 12 Noon. This e two that stand out are, we shared same birthday, and when I helped plant potatoes, he said he’d never seen a blonde mule! Oh Nita..when he bought you that green Torino!!
