Daniel "Danny" Eugene Pickett

Daniel “Danny” Eugene Pickett, 70, of Little Point, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in Kindred Rehab Center, Greenwood. He was born August 24, 1942, in Indianapolis, to the late James Leon Pickett and Grace Marie (Taylor) Briant.

Danny worked in various environments throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed working with and fixing things. He drove a tanker truck and ran a gas station. Above all, Danny was a farmer. He attended to all of the vehicles and maintenance possible. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing euchre, woodworking, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Richard H. Briant; brothers, James Leon Pickett, Richard Allen Briant, and Jerry Gale Briant; sister, Louella Faye Pickett Eaton.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 45 years, Suzy (Sims) Pickett, to whom he was united in marriage on June 29, 1968; sisters, Joan Pickett Harmon of Morgantown; Jacqueline M. Briant Sumner of Indianapolis; Janice K. Briant Tunis of Whiteland; and Juanita Briant Owens of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews; and a large extended family.

The funeral service will be held at Noon, on Monday, June 3, 2013, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.   1. I’ll never forget how much uncle Danny means to me. I can’t think of a time/event in my life that didn’t involve him. He will be missed more than words can say!

  2. Danny has been a part of my life since I was probably about 6 yrs old. So many memories…..he was more like a brother than a brother in law. I couldn’t imagine loving a brother more than I love him. He will be so missed but he has left me with so many wonderful memories. He will never know how much joy he brought to my life , my children and grandchildrens lives. Saying goodbye to such an important person in my life will be hard.
