Even though Dan and I hadn’t been brother-in-laws for since about ’89, when my oldest brother Rusty died and we were struggling to pay for the services and burrial, he not only performed the service but also got the VFW Honor Guard involved. It was a great day for me because of that even in all my sadness! Dan you always were a brother to me, now be with God, and we all will see you some day.
I remember the younger years. The family get togethers, and as we all grow up we all go are seperate ways. Danny was always a real gentleman, Go in Gods speed. And we will all gather again someday. Linda Drake Carter

Dan was in my class in Mooresville schools. I most remember him from a misadventure one summer as we neared junior high school. Dan along with Dick and Mike Ferguson and me were standing around talking one afternoon when Dan suddenly decided to climb a tree at the edge of a field. We carried on talking until a sudden ‘thud’ caught our attention. Dan lay on the ground with what turned out to be a broken leg. He didn’t make a sound and waited patiently for a ride to the doctor. What a good sport. My sympathy to his family–I’m sorry about your loss.
May you R.I.P cousin Dan!!! Brenda,K.C & Tammy my prayers are with you,may God keep you close to his heart! Love You Guys, Rhonda Bridges Ashpole
Dan was my boss briefly…it has been 21 years ago. I had a little girl that passed away while working with Dan. I had named her Danielle, and he was flattered. He was very kind to me, and I had visited his church. My prayers are with you, Brenda.
